I told my class that over the weekend I super cleaned our class rug. The last thing I wanted was to make such a clean and perfect carpet dirty again. In order for the class to come to my carpet they had to take off their shoes. They were thrilled! One student was so adimant on keeping my rug clean that he took off his socks.
We discussed that reverence means to have respect and honor. They respected and honored my desire to keep a clean rug! We also discussed how we show reverence to people in our lives: our Principal, our parents, and most importantly God.

I asked, "Does anyone remember who took their shoes off in the Bible to show reverence to the Lord?" Their faces lit up because not only could they remember, but now they could relate. We watched the video below of Moses and the burning bush.
